Restaurant Terms and Conditions – The View Sweden

Restaurant, Catering & Venue Rental

These terms apply to table reservations, special events, catering (collection/delivery), private venue bookings, venue rental, and pre-ordered items from the restaurant and café.

By booking, making payment, or using our services, you agree to these terms and conditions.

1. Booking Confirmation

A booking becomes binding once it has been confirmed by The View Sweden via telephone, SMS, email, or other written communication.

For larger events or private venue bookings, a written quotation may be required for the booking to be valid.

2. Table Reservations (Smaller Groups)

Table reservations are recommended during events, high season, and for larger groups.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the reserved time without notifying us, the table may be released.

Changes to the number of guests should be communicated at least 24 hours before the reservation time.

Special events may be subject to separate schedules and conditions.

3. Special Events Organized by The View Sweden

For events arranged by us, advance payment or full payment may be required at the time of booking.

Special events have limited capacity and require advance purchasing, staffing, and sometimes external service costs. Once a seat is booked, it is reserved and generally cannot be resold in the event of late cancellation.

Cancellation Policy

  • More than 30 days before the event: full refund minus any administrative costs

  • 15–30 days before: 25% of the booking amount will be charged

  • 8–14 days before: 50% will be charged

  • 0–7 days before: 100% will be charged

Cancellation fees reflect our actual costs for planning, purchasing, staffing, and reserved capacity.

4. Catering and Food Orders

Orders are binding once confirmed by us.

Advance payment may be required as agreed.

For catering, planning, purchasing of ingredients, and production preparations begin shortly after confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

  • 7 days or more before delivery: full refund

  • 3–6 days before delivery: 50% will be charged

  • Less than 72 hours before delivery: 100% will be charged

Failure to collect an order will be charged in full.

Mileage compensation and service fees may apply for deliveries as stated in the quotation.

Cancellation fees reflect costs related to purchasing, production, and reserved staff.

5. Private Venue Booking and Larger Groups (30+ Guests)

Applies to private venue bookings or reservations for 30 guests or more.

Number of Guests

  • Preliminary guest count must be provided at least 1 month before the event

  • Final guest count must be confirmed at least 2 weeks before

The confirmed final number of guests forms the basis for invoicing.

Minor adjustments of up to 5% of the confirmed number may be accepted.
Reductions beyond this percentage will not affect the invoiced amount.

This is necessary as purchasing, staffing, and venue allocation are based on the confirmed number.

Minimum Charge

For private venue bookings, a minimum charge per event may apply as stated in the agreed quotation.

This means the event will be charged according to the agreed minimum level, regardless of whether the final number of guests falls below that threshold.

The minimum charge will always be clearly stated in the quotation or booking confirmation.

Payment

  • 30% advance payment will be invoiced upon booking confirmation

  • The remaining balance must be received no later than 5 days before the event

In case of non-payment, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

6. Venue Rental Without Food and Beverage

The venue may be rented for private gatherings, meetings, or corporate events.

A maximum of 60 guests applies when renting the dining hall without service while the restaurant is closed.

In such cases:

  • Only non-alcoholic beverages are offered

  • Outside alcohol is not permitted

The renter is responsible for leaving the venue in the agreed condition and for any damages occurring during the rental period.

Additional charges may apply for cleaning, damages, or items left behind.

7. Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements

For larger groups, allergies and special dietary requirements must be communicated at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

We cannot be held responsible for allergies not communicated within this timeframe.

8. Alcohol Policy

When the restaurant is open, standard serving licenses and alcohol legislation apply.

When the restaurant is closed and the venue is rented privately, only non-alcoholic beverages are available.

Outside alcohol is not permitted in the dining hall, terrace, or surrounding premises near the service building.

9. Liability and Damages

The customer is responsible for damages to the venue, inventory, or equipment caused by negligence.

The View Sweden is not responsible for personal belongings.

In cases of disturbance or inappropriate behavior, we reserve the right to remove guests without refund.

10. Force Majeure

We are not liable for cancellation or modification of events due to circumstances beyond our control, including government decisions, natural disasters, illness, fire, or technical failures.

In the event of force majeure, payments will be refunded to a reasonable extent. No additional compensation will be provided.

11. Payment and Late Fees

Late payments will incur interest in accordance with the Swedish Interest Act (Räntelagen), as well as any reminder fees.

Unpaid bookings may be cancelled.

12. Personal Data

Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation (GDPR) and is used solely for booking administration and communication.

13. Amendments to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions.

The latest version is always available on our website.
